A little something about a boy and a girl, their dogs, their adventures, a few flowers...and a wee bit of running.

Iris and Grandma Cathy

Blog posting has become a little challenging. We don't have internet at home so the only way it seems to happen is if I pack up both kids and take a bus to Brian's lab. Once here we try and keep Rowan entertained in a somewhat sterile environment before he gets into any kind of trouble. I try and type as fast as possible with Iris attached to my body doing what she does best...eating and sleeping.

Last week Cathy, Brian's mom, packed her bags and headed home. She stayed with us for a month to help with Iris. Of course, Iris didn't come until the very last week, so she got to spend 3 weeks in a house with no television, no internet, no air conditioner, and a 3 year old who really only wants to spend the entire day playing construction site. She remedied the situation by bringing her fancy iphone with her and we eventually put up some window air conditioners, but she was on her own when it came to obsessive construction site building. By the way, did you know that there's a kid's book called, Good Night, Good Night, Construction Site?

It's been a tough week without her, but somehow we've survived. We're counting down the days until she comes back.

  2. She's a beauty. Perhaps Iris can learn to play construction site? It's worth a try... =)
