Rules get a little tiring sometimes. No dogs allowed, or dogs on leashes only, or (gasp) no alcohol. We happen to have rather unruly dogs and a kid that really just wants to run wild, so sometimes I think those rules are directed towards us. We had been wanting to squeeze in one last camping trip before snow starts falling around here. We also didn't want to go very far. Apparently southern Michigan hates dogs, so we had to do a fair amount of research to figure out where to go. Sus found the spot. It was perfect. We had to do a bit of searching, walked for an hour in the wrong direction, but finally found a large chunk of heaven along the Lake Michigan lake shore. Beautiful blue water, soft sand for miles, dunes to climb, and most importantly.....nobody else and no rules. Some of us ran wild....the rest of us lounged.
